None of the above. I guess technically I'm a "spankee," since I'm the one whose bare bottom is being paddled in my scenarios. But I'm not a bottom or a sub because in real life the interpersonal dynamics are at the very least equal, and often with me in charge. I also think of myself as a masochist, with my area of masochism being confined to the skin of my buttocks and my anus.

That it provides an environment in which to talk openly about spankosexuality in all aspects. I especially enjoy discussions about technique and implements, and the psychology, sociology, and history of spanking.

I only read a small percentage of the stories, since I'm really more interested in discussion, but the story writers I like the most tend toward the more extreme or edgy end of the spectrum, such as Max Smart, Simon, Dr. Simpson, and Debbie Ann. I especially like stories in which taboos are breached--incest, anal, public/private. I wish there were more doctor/patient stories.

REAL: My husband makes me bend over some pillows on the bed or the back of a futon, and paddles me for hours with a variety of implements. The pain is nearly unremitting and very intense, and I scream until I'm hoarse.

IMAGINED: Like many folks, my imagined scenarios are rather harsher: medical settings, scientific experiments, husband-wife discipline, initiation rituals for private clubs, and authority figures in uniform. Paddles, of course, but also enemas and moderate anal torture. The more realistic the fantasy, the closer it is to something I might really go through (however bizarre), the hotter I find it. I enjoy SSS a great deal. I also owe the group a considerable debt, since it's been invaluable to me in helping me come out to my husband and start experiencing my fantasies in real life. Quite literally I would not be where I am now, with regard to getting the paddlings I crave, were it not for SSS. Thanks to all of you!

However, there's a LOT of chaff along with the wheat. I wish more people used the convention of labeled off-topic postings "OT:" so I could filter those out. The flame wars don't bother me so much as the endless silly exchanges that appear to be flirtations conducted in public. I also get frustrated with people who get their feelings hurt too easily and go on about their wounds all the time. I think when a person's feelings have been hurt and they are looking for an apology -- it happens to me sometimes, too!--that the whole exchange should be conducted in private e-mail, not in public.

I also don't have much tolerance for children (in real life) or for adults that act like children (on the net). Bratty children disgust me. Sentimental depictions of, or references to, happy children or a happy childhood squick me *badly*. References to child activities are the single most adversive thing for me to accidentally read on the newsgroup. But it's my responsibility, of course, to avoid reading that stuff as much as possible. I just figured I'd say that since it comes up from time to time.

I don't want to stand out, I never liked the limelight, but I crave to be noticed and acknowledged a little. I told a friend about this place, his name is Rich and he may be my boyfriend.
